Health Insurance and why you should enroll right now.

As a full service enrollment center for the Washington Healthplanfinder, Suzie Health Solutions educates and enrolls people into healthcare for no cost. There are 11 enrollment centers however we are the one located in Wenatchee.

If you do not have health insurance then enroll now. You may not be able to get it until 2023 as there are special rules however it means that you are one step closer to having coverage.

Schedule an appointment and get your options

For the last nine years, we have assisted with people enrolling into Apple Health. While the application can be confusing or you might not understand the letters, these are things that we assist with so that you have coverage.

In June of 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act went into effect in Washington State and we saw costs plument. In Washington state over 10,000 were eligible for $0 cost plans. To be fair they often come in at a $1 per month however they have serious cost sharing at the silver level.  Yes, you could hold a part time job making $1610 per month and get healthcare.

There are programs that mean you can get coverage at zero cost.

ARPA also extended relief to people making over 400% of poverty so that they would not pay more than 8.5% of their income for health insurance. This meant for the first time many started enjoying savings on healthcare that lower income had for several years. This is scheduled to end at the end of 2022 unless the Build Back Better or similar measure is passed.

In November of 2021, Washington State made it possible for employees of Licensed Child Care Facilities to qualify for a zero cost plan through a unique program. A single person making $3220 per month can get a zero cost silver level plan. They have to pick from a specialized list however this is a great incentive program for employers and employees alike.

For 2023 Washington has scheduled everyone under 250% of poverty  to qualify for zero premium plans. We do not know if it will make it out of the legislative session for 2022 or if there will be a requirement of plan types. If this does go through then we will see more people qualified for healthcare than ever before in our state.

Outside of the Open Enrollments (usually run from November 1st through December 15th), we have to follow the Special Enrollment Rules. It means that you need a special documented reason to get healthcare. For example losing coverage from a health plan from work, getting married, lack of income or other special reason. You may qualify for one that you do not know about or a special rate that you had not heard about.

As you can see we are aware of changes in healthcare that are occuring now and may occur in the near future. If this is important then we recommend following our Facebook page and our Podcast Suzilla.
