Delta, Lambda, Travel to Canada and Mandatory Vaccinations

February of 2020 has been over a year ago. We were preparing for a Home show to talk to thousands of people about running the Enrollment Center in Wenatchee and other Suzie Health Solutions options. We thought that all we would need was an touch free hand sanitizer. How little did  we know.

We masked up and ran most of last year with one Special Enrollment or another. From Covid Special Enrollments to finishing up with the wildfire special enrollments for the End of 2020. The last Covid Special Enrollment has been going from February 15th through August 15th. Millions of Americans have received coverage during this special enrollment and they are receiving lower rates.

We are excited to have a few months to train and just focus on special enrollments. Special Enrollments are documented reasons that allow a person to get health insurance. Some of the reasons are losing employer coverage, moving into the area when you had coverage, getting married when one of you had coverage. Apple Health and the American Indians & Alaska Natives coverage are also year round enrollments!

If you don't have coverage or want to a start on the Fall Enrolment Season then set an appointment today

Medicare Enrollment runs October 15 through December 7th

Healthcare Enrollment runs November 1 through January 15th. (*note if you want a plan to start January 1st then you need to make the selection by December 15th).

Always do an application because you may qualify for a special enrollment that you didn't know existed. It also sets your account up for when Enrollment opens up.

The nice thing about these plans is that you do not have to carry the policy the full year. You can also adjust your income throughout the year.

Everyone that works at Suzie Health Solutions is vaccinated and we have copies of our cards located at the front of the office. Life does go on and it becomes a question if the vaccinated or the unvaccinated drive the public health policy.

We do a lot of travel policies. It is an inexpensive way to have coverage and travel. We went almost a year without writing them because travel was so restricted because of COVID. We are seeing more travel because people are getting their vaccinations are are wanting to see more of the world.  Our travel policy is an important site because it has a lot of good information and some of these policies do cover cancelation for COVID. Read up or talk with us and we will walk you through the policy.

Covid Passports into Canada

The Canadian Border has been closed to Americans for recreational travel since March of 2020. We have talked for months that countries would probably do this and it is no surprise that Canada would require proof of vaccination to move on. It is America's second destination in the world.  August 9th, that will have changed:

1. If you are fully vaccinated (with paperwork).

2. If you have passed a COVID test with in 3 days.

3. Use the App ARRIVE CAN

Covid is still evolving

There are some aggressive variants out there for COVID. Delta is expected to be the dominant strain. The Lambda variant is up to 1% in the United States and possibility of increased transmission or increased ability to neutralize antibodies. 1 in 5 Covid cases are coming from Florida. Florida, Texas and Missouri are generating 40% of the cases in the United states. We are seeing a change in attitude:

1. Alabama Republican Governor Ivy 'start blaming the unvaccinated folks' for the rise in Covid.

2. Former New Jersey Governor Whitman calling out Republican Governor's lack of response.

3. Conservative radio host regrets vaccine skepticism.

4. Doctors are frustrated over a preventable issue.

Required COVID-19 Vaccination.

The country is moving on to requiring COVID Vaccines.

1. Major Healthcare Professional Organizers call for mandates for All Health Workers and long-term care employers

2. The majority of Colleges in the United states are requiring Covid-19 vaccine for the fall semester.

3. The Department of Veterans Affairs requires staff to be vaccinated.

4. Yes, your employer can require you to be vaccinated.

5. Yes, it is not against HIPAA to ask if you have been vaccinated.

Do not be surprised if you work for a large company if they move to requiring a COVID-19 vaccine. Not enough folks are doing the right thing to stop Covid. As a country, we have moved beyond the nice stage. Where people could do their duty for America, get a vaccination and get a chance to win a million dollars.

If you need to get your vaccine in Washington state then go here. It costs nothing.

The gig economy and life insurance

It takes minutes Temporary work, contract jobs, seasonal jobs, freelance, piece work, driving for Uber, selling on Etsy, etc. The gig economy has been around for ever. Whether it is picking apples for the season, working the slopes at mission ridge, to being a contractor at a server farm it is easy to fall into a gig career path. About a third of the American workforce has found themselves bouncing from short term job to short term job. While the pay can be good temporary, what about the long term? A policy for everyone When was the last time that you met someone that retired after working from the same job for 40 years? On average, you will change jobs times 12 times in your lifetime. What happens if the next company doesn't offer a plan? We have seen companies terminate life insurance policies for retirees. Do really want to leave your family high and dry for a short term job? What happens when you die? Your bills don't go away . A majority of adults say a fu

Medicare Advantage, Supplement and Drug Plans from a local office.

We do a lot of work with the Washington Healthplanfinder as an Enrollment Center for Healthcare. Seriously, we are open year round answering questions and enrolling people in healthcare. When Suzie first started transitioning from being a Pharmacy Technician, she wanted to lead helping Medicare Individuals with their plans.  Yes, we assist people with Medicare. We stock materials Medicare Advantage, Supplement and Drug plans so that we can help with questions at our office in Wenatchee for your initial enrollment. Most people can enroll into Medicare plans 3 months before their 65 th Birthday, the month of and 3 months after their Birthday. Folks also can delay enrollment if they are covered by   plan through work. We can do a lot over the phone however sometimes there is nothing like having a complete enrollment packet in your fingertips. We like to take the time to do it correctly and it is not a problem to answer questions through the year. The best part is that we can as
